In May, 1,012,440 people in Georgia received a monthly salary, according to PMC Research Center’s employment tracker. This figure remained unchanged compared to April 2026 but increased by 2.1% year-on-year.
The data shows that 35% of employees earned between 1,200 and 2,400 GEL, while 35.8% received 2,400 GEL or more. The lowest income group (up to 600 GEL) accounted for 3% of earners, or 114,405 people, showing a decline compared to last year. The 600–1,200 GEL bracket included 182,239 employees, unchanged from the previous month.
High-income earners - those making 9,600 GEL or more -made up 3.1% of the total workforce, or 31,385 people. This segment has grown slightly year-on-year, reflecting a gradual shift toward higher reported wages.
Overall, the distribution indicates a continued increase in higher-income categories, alongside a shrinking share of low-wage earners compared to last year.
