About 10% of the Georgian population is on the so-called "black list", - information is disseminated by the Society and Banks Creditinfo Georgia based on its analytical review.

According to the organization, as of March 2025, almost 1.9 million Georgians have at least one loan, including a bank, a microfinance organization, or a pawnshop.

The report reads that every fifth borrower has more than 30 days overdue.

About 370 thousand people cannot repay their loans. 10% of the population has at least 1 problematic loan, and some have several. A large part of these loans is concentrated in non-bank entities, mainly in loan companies.

As for the total debt, problematic debt of individuals is more than 2.7 billion GEL.

Society and Banks writes that if we observe the trend, the number of problem loans and over-indebted citizens is increasing from year to year. Over 20% of the economically active population is on the so-called "black list."
