In January 2022, 663 new electric vehicles were purchased and registered in Ukraine, which is almost a third higher than in January 2021, Ukrinform reports, referring to the Ukrainian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Ukrautoprom).
In particular, of the total amount of purchased electric vehicles, there were 631 electric cars and 32 commercial vehicles.
The share of new vehicles in the registration of electric vehicles in January 2022 totaled 20% against 10% in January 2021.
The most popular new zero emission vehicles registered in Ukraine in January 2022 were Nissan Leaf (136 registrations), Tesla Model 3 (63 registrations), and Honda M-NV (33 registrations).
As of January 1, 2022, more than 33,000 electric vehicles were registered in Ukraine. In total, in January-December 2021, Ukrainians bought 8.8 thousand electric vehicles.
