According to the decision of the Standing Committee on European Integration, parliamentary hearings on the topic "On the Proposal of Holding a Referendum on Armenia's Application for EU Membership" will take place on June 21 at 11:00 in the National Assembly’s meeting hall.

Arman Yeghoyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee, announced that the initiative for the hearings was presented by the Platform of Democratic Forces and Civil Society. Authors of the proposal also attended an extraordinary meeting on June 17, where they shared their expectations and emphasized the importance of the referendum.

According to Hovsep Khurshudyan, head of the public organization "Free Citizen," public opinion polls indicate that a majority of Armenian citizens desire the country's integration into the EU as a full member.

Chairman Arman Yeghoyan and other committee members expressed their support for the initiative of holding parliamentary hearings. They believe that the results of the referendum could become a significant guideline for political forces in the upcoming elections.
