On the sidelines of the Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels on March 21, Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with the president of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron.

According to the press service of the Armenian government, the importance of high-level political dialogue between Armenia and France was noted, and the determination to further strengthen multi-sectoral cooperation was emphasized.

"The steps towards the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the processes taking place in the South Caucasus region, were discussed," the statement said.

It is noted that there was an exchange of views on the further development and expansion of cooperation between Armenia and the European Union.

Earlier, it was reported that in 2023, contacts between France and Armenia, especially in the defense sphere, noticeably intensified. Yerevan and Paris concluded an agreement on cooperation in the military sphere. According to this document, Paris will supply Yerevan with three GM200 radars and Mistral missiles. The French side will also assist Armenia in reforming its Armed Forces.
