Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message to French President Emmanuel Macron on the occasion of his birthday and the upcoming Christmas holidays.

In his message, as noted in the official statement, the Armenian Prime Minister particularly emphasized the transformation of bilateral relations into a strategic partnership achieved during Macron's presidency.

Pashinyan expressed his gratitude to the French leader for his consistent support of Armenia's sovereignty and democracy, as well as for his efforts to establish lasting peace in the South Caucasus. The head of the Armenian government also expressed hope to meet the French President in Armenia next year.

The Prime Minister wished the French President good health and success in his endeavors for the benefit of France, and wished the French people peace and prosperity in the New Year.

BMG notes that despite the strengthening of political ties between Armenia and France, economic cooperation between the two countries has not been developing as dynamically. According to statistics, trade turnover between the two nations from January to October 2024 amounted to approximately $130 million, which is 2.1% lower than the figure for the same period last year. Moreover, France's share in Armenia's foreign trade turnover remains insignificant—only 0.5%.
