On October 1, ahead of the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke at a panel discussion titled "Digitalization in Modern Realities: An Imperative for Ensuring the Four Freedoms," where he emphasized the importance of digital transformation for the effective functioning of both the economy and society.

Pashinyan noted that terms like "digital economy" and "digital society" have become an integral part of our lives. He explained that digital transformation means improving efficiency by transitioning from analog to digital data. However, according to him, this process must be built around the convenience of citizens and businesses, not the other way around. He also stressed that digitalization must be practical, useful, and modern, rather than a mere imitation of progress.

A key element in building a digital society, in Pashinyan's view, is trust and security. For successful digitalization, reliable and accessible data are essential to make government services transparent and convenient for citizens and businesses. In this context, the Prime Minister mentioned the concept of trusted data storage, which will simplify information exchange between government bodies and reduce administrative costs.

According to Pashinyan, digitalization could significantly improve cross-border trade and the payment of indirect taxes by ensuring the free movement of goods and people, as well as compliance with all quality and safety standards. The Prime Minister emphasized that implementing these ideas will require considerable effort but will create new opportunities for the development of both the economy and society.
