Pashinyan Discusses Security and Peace Process with NATO’s New Secretary General

On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with NATO’s newly appointed Secretary General, Mark Rutte.

According to an official statement from the Armenian government, the parties discussed prospects for advancing cooperation between Armenia and NATO and exchanged views on issues of regional and international significance.

Pashinyan briefed the NATO Secretary General on the progress of the peace process with Azerbaijan, emphasizing his government’s commitment to a peaceful agenda. He also introduced the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, highlighting Armenia’s readiness to unblock regional communications based on the principles outlined in the project.

Mark Rutte, in turn, underscored the importance of ensuring peace and stability in the region. He reaffirmed NATO’s support for Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as efforts aimed at establishing lasting peace.
