Passenger traffic through Georgia's international airports reached 3.6 million in the first six months of 2026, according to Levan Moseshvili, head of the Georgian Airports Association.
Moseshvili said the number of direct flights and flight frequencies from Georgia's international airports continues to increase, reflecting the steady growth of the country's aviation market.
"Aviation is a growing sector worldwide, and this trend is especially evident in Georgia. Last year's statistics, ongoing investments, and growing interest from airlines clearly demonstrate this. We are seeing increasing interest from major players in the aviation industry, and we are pleased to be keeping pace with this demand," he said.
He added that work is actively underway to expand airport infrastructure while continuing negotiations with airlines to increase flight frequencies and attract more carriers to the Georgian market.
According to the Airports Association, more than 21,500 tonnes of cargo were transported through Georgia's airports during the first half of 2026, marking a 29% year-on-year increase.
