Armenian airports served 5,251,932 passengers in 2024, according to Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan, who shared the figures at a year-end press conference on January 9.
The minister highlighted that five new airlines entered the country’s aviation market over the past year.
Cargo air transportation volumes reached 41,470 tons. Khudatyan also emphasized the development of domestic air routes, noting that 72 flights were operated on the Yerevan-Kapan-Yerevan route, underscoring the successful operation of regional airports.
According to Armenia’s Statistical Committee, during the first ten months of 2024, air transportation accounted for 32,500 tons of cargo, reflecting a 16.1% increase. However, passenger transportation in the aviation sector saw a slight 1% decrease, serving 4.6 million passengers.
