Pegas Touristik Keeps Prices on Sold Tour Packages Despite Rising Flight Costs

სალომე ბერაია

Rising aviation fuel prices and supply shortages are putting pressure on airlines globally, leading to higher ticket prices and, in some cases, reduced flight frequencies. The situation has also affected tour operators, as airlines revise contract terms and increase service costs.

According to Salome Beraia, General Director of Pegas Touristik Georgia and Azerbaijan, suppliers have already adjusted tariffs following recent geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. This has increased the cost of previously agreed flight services, impacting tour packages planned months in advance.

Despite this, the company will not raise prices on already sold packages. Beraia says changing prices would damage customer trust and the company’s reputation, so Pegas Touristik will absorb the difference using its own resources.

She notes that summer 2026 packages were launched as early as December 2025, based on earlier contracts. Since March, however, airfare on destinations such as Turkey and Egypt has risen by around €100, an increase of up to 20%, costs the company is now covering internally.
