As of November 30, 2023, the Pension Agency of Georgia keeps the savings of 1,467,000 citizens. The value of the total pension assets is GEL 4.2 billion, of which the value of the net assets is GEL 805 million.
Currently, citizens' pension savings are distributed in three different portfolios - less risky; medium risky and high-risk portfolios. However, from January, the updated legislation will come into force, which will return these savings to a less risky investment portfolio.
Currently, pension assets are distributed as follows:
Certificates of deposits - 62%;
Georgian treasury bonds - 19%;
Shares of foreign companies - 12%;
Profitable accounts - 5%;
Eurobonds - 0.4%;
Treasury liabilities of Georgia - 0.3%;
Local corporate bonds (foreign currency) - 0.3%;
Local corporate bonds - 0.3%;
Term deposits - 0.2%.
To date, 6,541 persons of different categories have benefited from cumulative pension, and the amount paid to them is GEL 19,273,991.
