“Kumis” produced 85 million eggs last year. The company’s director, Gogita Maisuradze, stated this in an interview with bm.ge. According to him, the company had a 6% growth in 2024. They plan to have the same growth figure this year.
As he explained, stability has been observed in the egg production industry recently.
“2022-2023 were more unstable. Many people came from neighboring countries due to the Russian-Ukrainian War, so egg consumption increased during that time, but after some time, they left the country. This was also reflected in egg consumption, and it decreased accordingly. However, stabilization has been observed in recent times,” he noted, adding that local production is increasing in quantity from year to year.
“The reason for this is that per capita egg consumption is growing. There is no radical increase, but a 5-6% increase is observed. According to Geostat data, consumption is increasing by 1-2 eggs per capita, which is good. We are also trying our best to keep up with this demand,” said the director of “Kumisi”.
According to him, the greatest demand for eggs throughout the year is during the New Year and Easter periods.
“We try to have the right amount of eggs during this time to provide consumers with the right amount,” said Gogita Maisuradze.
