Zviad Abuladze, founder of Nova, highlighted that the main challenge for businesses is the shortage of professional staff. He made these remarks at the Georgian Business Association conference.
According to Abuladze, the current macroeconomic environment is very positive.
“Business is experiencing a severe shortage of personnel. The Prime Minister had a very businesslike conversation, which I really liked, and most importantly, the state’s approach to addressing these issues is adequate.
As for macroeconomic parameters, they are very good, and all studies confirm this. Economic growth in the region and even in Europe, over the past three to four years has been among the best. However, to maintain and further strengthen this trend, timely and adequate responses to these challenges are essential. Over the past four years, Georgia’s economy has grown at an average rate of 9.4%, which is exceptionally high. This growth reflects the development of business and the stable political environment supporting it.
Instead of the initially expected 6% growth, the EBRD has revised its forecast to 7%, which is a positive signal from a major international financial institution. I believe growth may even reach 8%,” said Abuladze.
He also emphasized the importance of peace and stability for business operations.
“Peace in the country is among the most important factors for the business. This applies to any country, not just ours. While I cannot make political statements, the real issue for business is anything related to general instability in the country,” Abuladze concluded.
