Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Petr Kubernát, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Georgia.
At the introductory meeting, the relations and prospects of future cooperation between the Czech Republic and Georgia were discussed.
The Head of Government congratulated the new Ambassador on his appointment to a new position and wished him success in his future endeavors.
Emphasis was put on Georgia’s foreign policy priorities, and the strong support of the Czech Republic for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and European and Euro-Atlantic integration, was underlined. The Georgian Government’s steps toward the implementation of the EU’s 12 recommendations were discussed at the meeting. The Prime Minister underlined the importance of granting the candidate status to our country and expressed the hope that Georgia’s efforts will be duly reflected in the European Commission’s report, and that the European Commission will recommend to grant the candidate status to Georgia.
At the meeting, the need to deepen the trade and economic contacts between the countries and the commitment of both parties to working in this directions were pointed out.
The meeting at the Government Administration was attended by Jana Gašparíková, Deputy Head of Mission in Georgia.
