Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met Fernando Grande-Marlaska, Minister of the Internal Affairs of the Kingdom of Spain on Thursday.
Discussion was related to the fruitful cooperation existing between Georgia and the Kingdom of Spain in various directions. Friendly relations and partnership enjoyed by the two nations was highlighted along with a high-level political dialogue pursued between the countries.
It was noted that Ministries of Internal Affairs of Georgia and Kingdom of Spain are cooperating in a productive manner and this interaction is based on the principles of international agreements, partnership and mutual trust.
Discussion was also related to the progress achieved by Georgia on its path to European integration and significance of the report published by the European Commission on the compatibility of the national legislation of Georgia with EU Acquis Communautaire.
Meeting held at the Government Administration was attended by Elena Garzón Otamendi, Director General of International Relations and Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kingdom of Spain; Marcos Granados Gomez, Charge’ d’Affaires at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain to Georgia; Vakhtang Gomelauri, Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia; H.E. Ilia Giorgadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Kingdom of Spain.
