We support all the recommendations that the Commission has made regarding the enlargement package for this summit of the European Council, including in relation to Georgia, - the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, told reporters in Brussels.

"My colleagues and I will work hard to reach a consensus both on the next steps regarding enlargement and on the allocation of 50 billion euros of aid to Ukraine. Both issues are very important," said the Prime Minister of the Netherlands.

The European Council will meet in Brussels on December 14-15 to discuss the enlargement package, which involves ten countries. Among the key considerations are granting Georgia the status of a candidate for EU membership, initiating membership negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova, also issue of Western Balkan countries.

Decisions at the European Council require consensus among the leaders of the 27 EU member states, with the final decision set to be announced during the two-day summit.
