Polish, Russian and Chinese Fragrances Dominating the Georgian Perfume Market

Poland, Russia and China are the top three importer countries on the Georgian perfume and toilette water market. While the majority of dealers assert that their perfumes are from France, this country occupies just 4% of total perfume and toilette water imports. Perfume and toilette water import has shrunk in Georgia during Jan-Sep 2020 by 56 tonnes since Jan-Sep 2019.

742.1 tonnes of perfume and toilette water worth USD 12, 807, 400 was imported in Georgia during the first 9 months of 2020. In Jan-Sep 2019 the number was 798. 2 tonnes, worth USD 15, 780, 400.

Out of the total volume, the major share - 195.7 tonnes, was imported from Poland during the three quarters of 2020. 133.1 tonnes was imported from Russia, 122.9 tonnes from China and just 29.5 tonnes from France.

According to a recent analysis from WorldsTopExports.com, overall, the value of exported perfumes rose by an average 16.8% for all exporting countries since 2015 when perfumes shipments were valued at $16.8 billion. Year over year, the value of international sales for perfumes dropped by -5.1% from 2018 to 2019.

The list of top 10 countries that sold the highest dollar value worth of exported perfumes during 2019 incorporate: France: US$5.4 billion (27.5% of total exported perfumes), Spain: $2.3 billion (11.9%), Germany: $2.2 billion (11.4%), United States: $1.7 billion (8.5%), Italy: $1.3 billion (6.8%), Singapore: $1.1 billion (5.6%), Netherlands: $760.1 million (3.9%), United Kingdom: $620.5 million (3.2%), Poland: $537.5 million (2.7%) and Czech Republic: $521.2 million (2.7%).
