The founder of "Caucastrans Express" Gia Daneli talks about the high tariffs in Georgian ports. As Danelia says, the taxes in Georgian ports are 6 times higher than the tariff in other Black Sea ports.
Danelia emphasizes the capacity of cargoes and says that the development of the infrastructure is crucial considering the current reality.
"According to the indicators of the 10th month of 2023, the ports' load is already 95%, practically working at the limit. The projects that are planned in the future will alleviate the situation to some extent and attract additional burdens. I am not talking about Anaklia anymore, Anaklia would have received and processed a million containers.
Also, the port service fee in our ports is 6 times higher than in other Black Sea ports. Accordingly, this leads to an increase in the tariff and an increase in the value of the cargo loaded on the ship", - states the founder of "Caucastrans Express".
