Container throughput at APM Terminals Poti increased by 8.2% year-on-year in the first five months of 2026, reaching 277,081 TEUs, compared to 255,944 TEUs during the same period of 2025.
The port also recorded steady monthly growth, handling 52,959 TEUs in March, 58,665 TEUs in April, and 64,952 TEUs in May. The number of container vessels received rose to 172, up from 139 a year earlier.
General cargo volumes showed strong growth as well, with the port processing 160,857 tons between January and May, compared to 128,828 tons in the same period of 2025.
Ferry cargo volumes increased to 80,765 tons from 69,123 tons a year earlier. However, the number of car-carrying containers declined to 6,149, down from 8,257 in the first five months of 2025.
