President Zourabichvili Met With German Colleague In Berlin

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili met with her German colleague Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin.

According to the President’s press office, Zourabichvili discussed “Georgia’s pre-election environment inspired by Russia as well as the Georgian diaspora, which faces artificial barriers to participate in the elections.”

“The Georgian President also spoke about the obstacles facing Georgian NGOs, including those that prohibit them from carrying out observation missions.

Georgia’s president reaffirmed to the German president the country’s strong spirit and declared that Georgians are firmly pro-European and their foreign orientation was, is, and will remain European.

The German president, for his part, stated that he supported the Georgian president’s “Georgian Charter” and expressed optimism that the pro-European forces would prevail in Georgia. Steinmeier expressed his full support to the Georgian people and their fight for the European future,” reads the statement.
