Private sector is looking for a solution to develop tourism sector without the National Tourism Administration. One of their findings is related to the development of family tourism. Lela Giorgadze, a tourism expert told TV-program "Business Morning" that family tourism is the only way to develop sustainable tourism in a post-pandemic situation.
"Families stay longer in one place, therefore they need more comfort and use more local services; Families usually spend more and cover all age segments: from infants to seniors. In other words, we are moving to high-spending tourists.
At the same time, family tourism packages are focused on discovering local culture and traditions, which means that people do not come only for CHECK IN,” said Lela Giorgadze.
According to her, families are very careful about food and prefer natural products, therefore development of agriculture is also related to the benefits of this type of travelers.
