Pro-Russian businessman Mamuka Pipia, leader of the "Solidarity for Peace" organization, states that an announcement regarding a "Georgievsk 2" treaty will soon be made from Moscow.

According to Pipia, the time has come for the country to consider "real salvation and a new Treaty of Georgievsk."

"As the leader of Solidarity for Peace, I want to state openly: we are working in this direction, and very soon an announcement regarding 'Georgievsk' will be voiced from Moscow.

Today, the time has come to care about the real salvation of the country and a new 'Georgievsk 2,' this time on equal terms," Pipia stated. He also responded to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze's statement concerning the 1783 treaty:"

I agree with Prime Minister Kobakhidze that the 1783 Treaty of Georgievsk saved our statehood and Christianity, but I disagree with him that this step was taken as a path toward Europe.

"During a special briefing today, August 18, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze described King Erekle II's signing of the Treaty of Georgievsk with the Russian Empire as the "only correct and alternative-free decision.

"Kobakhidze claimed that despite the Russian Empire acting in its own self-interest, the step contributed to the survival and ultimate victory of the Georgian nation.
