Keti Bochorishvili, former deputy minister of economy declares that decline in foreign direct investments is not just related to the pandemic, as this trend started in previous years.
"It is important to look at the trend of recent years - there is a large decrease in investments. It means that no proper works have been carried out with investors in 2018- 2019, which is reflected on the statistics in the future. The decline was observed in Q1 before the pandemic. So, we cannot only blame the pandemic.
At the same time, the problem is that there are no new investors and countries. This is a sign that we do not have a strategy, we have to attract new investments and establish ties with them," said Keti Bochorishvili.
