Otar Merabashvili, director of Kaspi Canning Factory told bm.ge that product price increase is inevitable.
According to him, the reason for the product price increase is sugar, fuel and utility bills’ growth.
"Sugar has become more expensive, while our production depends on the sugar price. No matter how much the price is regulated, cost growth is inevitable. Prices will be revised in May, as soon as the fruit season begins. The fruit prices will give us an accurate forecast," Merabashvili said, noting the possible delays in the imports of packaging materials due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
"As for the imports of packaging materials, we are completely dependent on the Ukrainian market, we have imported at least 1 million annually.
We also exported a small amount to Ukraine, and we will redistribute this amount in Europe," said the director of the Kaspi Canning Factory.
