In 2025, Georgia’s protected areas saw a record number of visitors. According to the Agency of Protected Areas, 1,250,417 people explored the country’s protected sites last year, nearly 13% more than in 2024.
The most visited sites were:
- Prometheus Cave – 285,883 visitors
- Martvili Canyon – 275,475 visitors
- Mtirala National Park – 131,271 visitors
- Sataplia Cave – 105,389 visitors
- Tsalka Canyon – 98,809 visitors
Statistics show that 515,188 visitors were Georgian (+12% YoY), while 735,229 were international tourists (+14% YoY).
The Agency highlighted its efforts in 2025 to develop recreational infrastructure and services, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for visitors while promoting the sustainable conservation of Georgia’s natural heritage.
