“Prosecutors accusations are total nonsense”,- says the chair of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Georgia, Fady Asly.
Asly Thinks that the chairman of Georgian Dream party Bidzina Ivanishvili is trying to take control over TBC Bank and Aanaklia Port and to achieve his aim ex-Prime Minister is using prosecutor's office.
“Prosecutors accusations are total nonsense. Accusation on money laundering does not stand. To have money laundering the money should come first from illicit or criminal operations, but the money came from TBC Bank so how can you have money laundering when the money comes from legitimate organization? In addition the money came back to TBC Bank. Obviously this is a scam which is organized by Bidzina Ivanishvili to take over TBC and Anaklia, he is using prosecutors office and financial monitoring service. The best thing that prosecutor’s office can do now is to drop down those charges that have no ground at all. Close the file and let us be done with this issue instead of them spoiling the reputation of Georgia more and more.
I don’t know what are his motivations, honestly this is all speculations, what I see are facts, I see a businessman who is using state structures to get rid of another businessman with exactly the same methods it was done in times of Shevardnadze’s time. Ivanishvili’s aim is to control the TBC and to take over the Anaklia Port project,”- says Asly.
