Prosecutor’s Office Conducts Searches at Residences of Garibashvili, Liluashvili, and Partskhaladze

Searches were conducted in the residences and homes of Irakli Garibashvili, Grigol Liluashvili, and Otar Partskhaladze, during which a large amount of cash was seized, the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia announced earlier today.

As stated at the Prosecutor’s Office briefing, searches were carried out this morning at 22 locations across the country. In addition to the cash, electronic devices and documents were also confiscated.

“Due to the particularly high public interest and the importance of the ongoing criminal cases, I would like to share the following information with the public. Within the framework of several ongoing criminal investigations being conducted by the Investigative Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office, as well as the Anti-Corruption and State Security Departments of the State Security Service, a large-scale operation was carried out today, starting at 10 a.m., simultaneously at 22 locations across the country.As part of this joint operation, searches were conducted in the apartments, houses, and personal belongings of former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, former Head of the State Security Service Grigol Liluashvili, former Chief Prosecutor Otar Partskhaladze, and eight other individuals connected to them.

Various electronic devices, documents, and large sums of cash were seized. Active investigative, procedural, and operative-search measures are ongoing regarding these cases. The public will be periodically informed about the progress and results of the investigation,” the Prosecutor’s Office stated.
