Irakli Sasania, founder of company MYDOC told BM.GE that Doctor Robot may assist medical staff in managing patients in Georgia. He notes, that such robot has already been brought to Georgia for testing and it is already used in one of the COVID hotels.
"At this stage, we have brought only one prototype of the medical robot to test, which controls patients and allows doctors to evaluate patients remotely. The robot can enter the wards and with the assistance of the robot, the doctor can talk to the patients from a distance and give advice, change the appointment and even visually inspect.
Unlike the telephone, video communication has a big plus for doctors because it allows for visual evaluation. It is not robot Pepper, this is other type of robot, which can communicate with patients, deliver medicines to them. We have tested the robot at the COVID hotel for a while and it still needs further testing. There is interest from the state and now we are at this stage how it can be introduced,” said Irakli Sasania, the founder of MYDOC.
