The European Commission Vice-President, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, told a joint news conference after meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili that assistance from COVAX to Georgia is important.

As the Vice-President of the European Commission noted, during the meeting with Gharibashvili, they also talked about the current political and economic situation.

"We talked about the current political situation. We welcome the fact that Georgia has received assistance from COVAX, and it will receive more in the form of assistance from the European Union. We want the country to go through this situation in a smooth way and to achieve a sustainable condition, to restore the economic situation in the country," said Joseph Borrell.
