Salome Zourabichvili, President of Georgia declares, that the country needs a new economic paradigm because the pandemic has shown us that an economy built only on market principles cannot meet the challenges of the world.
In addition, the President said at the opening of the first session of the Parliament of the 10th convocation that the state should take the main responsibility for the health, education and social sectors.
"It is necessary to find a new balance, in which the area of free action of the private sector will not be limited - on the contrary, it will be more protected, and the role of the public sector will remain essential. As we have seen, the plan for the disappearance of the state sector turned out to be absurd. However, in this area, the efficiency, flexibility and accountability of the private sector must be established for every spent lari, "- said the President.
