Giorgi Dartsimelia, chairman of Certified Guides Association notes in an interview with BM.GE, that it’s time for business democracy and the rules should be dictated by the tourism industry. He declares, that the sector sets the rules in global tourism and governments assist in the implementation.
"So far, I see little prospect in tourism, but I see a great opportunity after the past pandemic. We can meet the future much more prepared”, Darsimelia declares.
Chairman of Certified Guides Association notes that the Government plays a crucial role, but private sector involvement is inevitable and necessary.
“I think the private sector should be more active. All developed democracies and economies are distinguished by the fact that the private sector sets its own standards. If we look at the experience of the Great Britain or the US, the sector introduces rules and the government helps in implementation. All the rules in the global tourism are set by them," said Giorgi Dartsimelia.
He notes that the representatives of the sector should be the proposers of the rules and this must be supported by the government.
"In the West, businesses have their own democracy, they write the rules and the government supports them," said Giorgi Dartsimelia.
