Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze held an online meeting with the clinics involved in the management of COVID-19.
According to the Ministry, the sides discussed growing dynamics of the number of coronavirus infections and existing challenges.
The meeting was attended by the heads of about 20 clinics. Lasha Macharashvili, Clinical Director of Amtel Hospital, was among them.
According to Macharashvili, the Minister considered a new protocol, which provides differentiation of patients in clinics in order to decrease the load of the hospital sector.
"A new protocol has been developed. It sets the criteria for managing a patient. The matter concerned to the differentiating patients at the emergency of the clinics. Patient who needs to be hospitalized should stay at the hospital, relatively patients with light symptoms can be transferred to a hotel or home after proper examination under the supervision of a family doctor. Of course, this will unload hospitals and it will be more convenient to use this method," Macharashvili said.
