"Metekhi Ceramics", a manufacturer of building materials, plans to double its production and expand sales. According to Davit Kakabadze, director of the company, the company's sales are increasing y-o-y and the demand in the market is high, so they want to increase the capacity of the company even more.
"Last year, the sales of Metekhi Ceramics increased by 50%. This is probably due to the fact that construction regulations are coming in and companies are focusing on quality. Our enterprise produces ceramic paving materials and blocks. This year, we have already invested USD 1.5 million. Next year, we will add another USD 1 million and reequipping of the factory will be completed", - noted Davit Kakabadze.
Speaking about the exporting prospects, the head of the company says that today this direction is not profitable for their business, because the competition is great.
"As for the exporting markets, we buy gas from SOCAR and today we pay USD 600, while in Russia the cost of 1 cubic meter is USD 50-70, it is the same in Azerbaijan, so by entering these markets we will not be able to compete with local producers and I am not trying to enter there," Kakabadze explained.
