Former Deputy Minister Keti Bochorishvili declares, that investment decline is related to the suspension of Anaklia and other projects. She told Business Course, that strategic infrastructure projects allow the country to ensure business development and investments, they are not hampered when a crisis arises.

"It has a positive impact on statistics, as well as on the economic development of the country in general. For the sake of objectivity, I would like to add that the highest volume of investments was fixed in Q3, 2019. However, the fact that this figure decreased by 26% has been expected. But, if we compare the data of three quarters, we will see a total decrease of 20%", - said Keti Bochorishvili.

“If we look at the indicators, we almost do not have new investors in recent years. This is a very bad trend; it means that we are not working on the inflow of new investments. This probably caused by the fact that the country has no vision. COVID has its influence, but we have talked about this before. There is no interest from the state towards the foreign companies, decisions are not made quickly and bureaucracy is increased, it is reflected in the statistics as a whole," she added.
