According to Maia Makharashvili, due to the depreciation of national currency, medical equipment became more expensive for them and costs increased significantly.
"The depreciation of GEL rate is directly related to us, because we buy most of the medical devices and medicines at market prices, while the supplier imports them from other countries, because they are not produced here.
Price for stents provided by the Government Resolution 520 was very low at the time. However, today these stents are even more expensive. Also, consumable materials, including face masks, are grown in price by 200% and spending is doubled…
We cannot change the prices, but expenditures are uniquely increased. The clinic cannot save money on it amid epidemic. Depending on the situation, we are actually floating, the clinic exists with services that are not funded by state programs”, said the General Director of Khechinashvili Clinic.
