Record Growth in Imports to Armenia: Supplies from Russia Increase 2.5 Times

From January to November 2024, Armenia's total imports grew by 41.49%, marking an increase of $4.7 billion compared to the same period in 2023. The most significant surge was observed in trade with Russia.

Russia remains Armenia's largest trading partner, increasing its supplies by 144.03% to $8.85 billion, which accounts for 55.77% of the country's total imports. Specifically, imports of Russian goods rose 2.5 times, reaching $8.67 billion.

China ranks second, with imports totaling $1.09 billion (a 21.23% increase), representing 6.84% of overall imports. Chinese goods saw a 3.5% rise, reaching $1.58 billion. Georgia holds third place with $714.7 million in imports, though this marks a 14.97% decline.

In terms of regional trade blocs, imports from CIS countries grew by 135.93% to $9.1 billion, while supplies from EAEU countries rose by 139.82% to $8.99 billion. In contrast, imports from the European Union decreased by 11.21% to $1.83 billion.

Among other key partners, imports from the United States dropped significantly by 59.75% to $324.3 million, and imports from the UAE fell by 24.38% to $412.3 million. However, imports from Iran showed a modest increase of 3.64%, totaling $572.5 million.
