Demand for private schools is growing. In 2000, there were only 123 private schools in Georgia, with 12 000 students, while this year, 223 private schools are functioning in the country with more than 57 thousand students studying in them. According to the data of recent years, in 2013, total of 51 thousand children were studying in private schools, in 2014, number of students increased to 53 thousand.
In 2015, 55 thousand students were registered in private schools, in 2016 the number reached 55 800 and in 2017-2018 academic year, record number of students – 57 200 – was registered in private schools. In private schools in regions, monthly fee is 40-50 GEL. the range of annual tuition in private schools in the capital varies between 2000 GEL and 19 000 USD.
