The Legal Issues Committee discussed with the II reading the Bill by the Government on Road Traffic, equalizing the mopeds to other mechanical vehicles and subjecting them to the requirements same as stipulated for any other mechanical vehicles.
“The drivers of the mopeds will have to register their vehicles and hold a driving license of a new type – AM category. Registration of the mopeds shall remain voluntary as of March 1, 2022, and shall become mandatory upon this moment”, - the Deputy Interior Minister, Alexander Darakhvelidze stated.
Yet another change to the Law envisages the two stages of the practical part of the driving license test, and one of the main directions of the change envisages the implementation of the EUAA Agenda to make the change of the Georgian driving licenses into the European licenses possible.
