6,284 new enterprises were registered in Georgia in May, which was a decrease of 5.9% y-o-y.
At the briefing, Gogita Todradze, executive director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia explained that the downward trend is due to the decline in the registration of foreign individual entrepreneurs.
"About 6,300 new enterprises were registered in the country, and this figure was 6% lower than the figure of the corresponding period of the previous year. The decrease mainly comes from the data of registration of foreign industrial entrepreneurial entities. In May, the rate of registration of foreign industrial entities has decreased by about 19% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year", - said Gogita Todradze.
