The average monthly number of Georgian resident visitors aged 15 and older reached 1.38 million in the third quarter of 2025, making 1.74 million visits across the country, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat). Compared to the same period last year, the number of visitors fell by 5.7%, while total visits declined by 0.9%.
Tourist visits averaged 799.9 thousand per month, a 6.9% decrease year-on-year. The largest share of visitors (36.3%) were aged 31–50, and women accounted for 57.8% of all domestic travelers. By place of residence, 38.7% of visitors came from Tbilisi, followed by Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti (15.4%) and Adjara (9.6%).
Visiting friends and relatives remained the main purpose of travel, making up 49.3% of all visits. Imereti and Tbilisi were the most visited destinations, averaging 352.3 thousand and 307 thousand monthly visits respectively.
Monthly domestic tourism spending totaled 399.5 million GEL in Q3, marking a 2.8% annual decrease. Average spending per visit also declined by 1.9% to 229.1 GEL.
