Armenia’s Food Safety Inspectorate said it has stepped up control over the retail outlets and supermarkets because of the growing numbers of confirmed Covid-19 cases across the country, saying also it will be inspecting next catering points and manufacturing enterprises to see if their staff and visitors observe anti-coronavirus rules.

On Friday, inspectors of the Food Safety Inspectorate visited large supermarkets in the capital Yerevan’s districts of Kentron and Davitashen. The basic requirements for the prevention of coronavirus have not changed: workers and customers must wear masks, maintain social distance, hand sanitizers in stores must be accessible and surfaces must be disinfected regularly, ARKA reports.

In some stores, anti-epidemic rules were not followed. These economic entities were given a strict warning, but in case of repeated violations, they will be fined in the amount of 100-300 thousand drams ($200-$600).
