Russia will increase the tax on wheat exports from USD 94 to USD 94.9 from December 29, - according to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the Ministry, customs duty on barley will be reduced from USD 84.8 to USD 83.5 and on corn – from USD 69 to USD 55. The new taxes will be effective until January 11 due to the New Year holidays. As for the new export tax, it will be published on December 30 and will be effective from January 12.
The export tax is based on the indicative prices for grain, which is USD 335.6 per ton of wheat ($ 334.3 a week ago), USD 304.4 per ton barley (USD 306.2 a week earlier) and USD 283.6 (USD 263.6 a week ago) for per ton corn.
Russia has imposed a floating tax on grain exports since June 2 this year, which is determined by the value of the grain on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
According to the forecast of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, grain exports amount to 45-48 tons for 2021-2022. Last year the figure was 49 tons, of which 38.4 tons was wheat.
Georgia imports the largest amount of wheat from Russia. 291,605 tons out of the 318,657 tons of wheat, valued at $ 73.1 million, were imported from Russia in the first 10 months of this year.
