Gazprom decided to recover from Moldovagaz a debt of US$ 370.5 million for gas supplied in 2018. This is stated in the quarterly report of the Russian gas monopolist company.
“In February 2021, PJSC Gazprom filed a claim with the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation to recover from Moldovagaz JSC (Republic of Moldova) the debt for natural gas supplied in 2018 in the amount of US$ 370,518,092.46,” reads the quarterly report of Gazprom.
Last year, the court fully satisfied the company's claim to recover from Moldovagaz US$ 246.4 million for fuel supplies in 2017.
The current contract for the transit and supply of Russian gas to Moldova is valid until the end of September 2021.
The report also states that from January 1 to May 15 of the current year, Gazprom increased gas production by 15.4 percent compared to the same period last year. Exports to non-CIS countries since the beginning of the year have grown by 26.7 percent (up to 76 billion cubic meters).
