A total of 423 children have been killed and over 810 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started. The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Over 1,233 children in Ukraine have been affected by the Russian armed aggression. As of October 14, 2022, a total of 423 children were killed and over 810 received injuries of various severity levels,” the report states.
These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.
Currently, most casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region (407), Kharkiv region (256), Kyiv region (116), Mykolaiv region (77), Chernihiv region (68), Zaporizhzhia region (68), Luhansk region (64), Kherson region (57), and Dnipropetrovsk region (31).
On October 13, 2022, an 11-year-old boy died from the injuries received in Russia’s shelling of Mykolaiv.
In addition, a 16-year-old boy was injured in Russia’s shelling of the village of Senkove in the Kharkiv region’s Kupiansk district yesterday.
As a result of Russia’s daily air and artillery strikes, a total of 2,614 educational institutions were damaged across Ukraine, and 313 of them were destroyed completely.
