Russia's share in both tourism and exports has decreased compared to the mase period of 2019, - said Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili, while presenting the 2023 budget project to the Parliament.
The minister noted that Russia's invasion of Ukraine is the most important challenge for the Georgian economy both at the global and regional levels.
According to him, based on the statistics of 9 months from the beginning of the year, the recovery of tourism amounted to 97.5%, and without Russia and Ukraine 98.1%.
In total, the growth of exports in 9 months amounted to 37.4%, and without Russia and Ukraine, the figure stood at 47.1%.
"If we assume, without the war, the recovery of Russia and Ukraine would be similar to other countries, both in exports and in tourism, the net effect in inflows is negative, and the main contributor to the high economic recovery is the general trend of rapid recovery of tourism and exports," said the Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili.
