Georgian consulting company Salt Projects has completed its first international hospitality project with the opening of a 48-room hotel, Pocketbook Hudson, in New York. The concept and operational management of the hotel were developed by the team of Valeri Chekheria and Levan Berulava.

According to Salt Projects founder and CEO Valeri Chekheria, the hotel offers a multifunctional space for artists, culinary events, and cultural activities, positioning it as a “quiet escape from New York City.” He said the project has already received international recognition, including coverage in The New York Times and other leading media outlets.

Chekheria noted that Salt Projects was involved not only in developing the concept but also in overseeing the hotel’s operational management, with ongoing remote coordination and regular on-site visits planned every two months.

Co-founder Levan Berulava highlighted the significance of the project, saying the full concept was designed by Salt Projects in collaboration with local partners. He added that the company is also actively working on additional projects in Italy, Armenia, and Georgia, with a continued focus on expanding internationally while maintaining strong ties to the local market.
