Georgian technology company Self HR plans to open a physical office in Uzbekistan and invest more than $500,000 in the market. The Tashkent office is currently undergoing technical preparations and will become the company’s first physical branch abroad, after previously serving international markets remotely.
Co-founder Nino Peikrishvili said Uzbekistan has proven to be a promising market despite its challenging business environment. The company sees potential in the country’s size, growing openness to technology and government support for digital transformation, and aims to play a role in this process.
The expansion will coincide with a rebranding, as Self HR will operate under the name Semeto in Georgia and international markets. The company said its platform has expanded beyond HR to include project and task management, evaluations and tools connecting financial, accounting, marketing, sales and operational processes. Self HR will remain an internal sub-brand of Semeto.
Self HR’s platform is already used in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Poland, with more than 1,500 partner organizations across five countries. Its clients range from seven-person companies to organizations with more than 10,000 employees and include businesses in retail, hospitality, manufacturing, finance and healthcare. Semeto has already presented its new brand at ICT Week in Tashkent and plans to continue its international expansion.
