Former Ukraine manager Andriy Shevchenko has been appointed as the head coach of Italian club Genoa. Shevchenko will earn 1.8 million euros annually.
Italian media reported earlier that Shevchenko would sign a contract with the club until the summer of 2024. His assistants will be Mauro Tassotti and Luigi Nocentini, who worked with him in Ukraine's national football team, Ukrinform reports.
Shevchenko will earn 1.8 million euros a year at Genoa. Shevchenko will hold his debut match as Genoa coach against Roma on November 21.
The Italian club sacked head coach Davide Ballardini on Saturday, November 6. Genoa is in 18th place in the Italian Serie A.
