After the state of emergency has been announced and movement of citizens has been restricted in the country, consumption of oil products was significantly reduced.
As Levan Giorgadze, General Director of SOCAR, told bm.ge, fuel consumption in their network has been reduced by over 40%.
"The situation is alarming. Fuel consumers is decreasing every day, because in general people are no longer moving,”Giorgadze declares.
As for fuel prices in the retail chain, he said, that oil product prices has recently dropped by 40-50 tetri, given the discount, but it is impossible to predict what will happen in the future.
According to Giorgadze, the prices of oil products on the world market exceeded $ 30. It is also expected that OPIC will make a decision on reducing oil production, which in the future will, of course, affect the fuel price in retail chains in Georgia.
